Process Description:
Located on the Chesapeake Bay near Baltimore, Maryland, MRAS is one of the world's leading suppliers of jet engine thrust reversers, the brakes of a jet engine. MRAS required a portable, automated hydraulic test skid and data acquisition system to test their thrust reverser systems coming off the production line.
The following functionality was required:
- Hydraulic system pressure control
- Automated and manual control of test sequence
- System Bleed, System Proof, System Functional and Troubleshooting Functions
- Automated data collection
- Formatted reports w/export to Excel, PDF, RFT and HTML
- Built in data archival to CD
Project Description:
The RG Group, York, Pennsylvania, was hired by MRAS to design and build the Hydraulic Test Skid as a turnkey project. The RG Group contracted FEC to design, build and integrate the control and data acquisition system. FEC's scope of supply included:
- Collaborated with RG Group to create scope and price proposal to MRAS specification
- Complete electrical design of control and data acquisition system
- Design and assembly of hydraulic system control panel
- Design and assembly of computer enclosure
- Developed automated and manual control of test sequence
- Design and program VB application for operator interface
- Factory acceptance Testing, Start-Up and Site Acceptance Testing
- Customer training and on-going support
